O'Cebreiro was a picturesque little pueblo - all the buildings and the streets are of stone. It's evidently become a tourist destination as there were lots of tourists and a bicycle group as well as pilgrims. We decided that, since I wasn't feeling well, we would take an easy day today. So we slept in until 7:15 and got up after pretty much every one had left. Then we had breakfast and started walking about 9:00. Our goal was to walk a little over 10 km to Fonfaria where we would find an Albergue that had private rooms. We found it after a pretty nice walk at 1:30ish, got our habitación privada which, tough simple, felt like the lap of luxury. No sooner did we get settled than the wind started to blow and it started to rain which we hear is typical of Galicia.

Day #14. O'Cebreiro to Fonfria
After walking up 2 mountains on days 12 and 13, my cold finally caught up with me. I felt pretty good when we arrived in O'Cebreiro and checked into the Albergue, but after a shower and a beer, I began to feel pretty wiped out. We had a very good pilgrim menu with caldo gallego ( a Galician soup of chicken broth and vegetables), and fried eggs and ham (Marty had grilled meat) and went to bed. The bunks in the Albergue were arranged in groups of 4 pushed together, so 8 people slept quite close together, and during the night it got quite warm. We felt as if we were sleeping in a Petrie dish and I was spreading my cold germs around.

Well it's like a college party. Sorry you are germy. Walking a pilgrimage should be a remedy to illness except for Ebola. I love hearing the sleeping stories. Brings me back to traveling in college in Europe. I am a bit concerned about all the empty shoes you photograph. Are you walking barefoot like Bilbo Baggens? Perhaps you got sick trying to become a Hobbit?
