As we walked along up and down with little or no shade, we came up with a new rule: we start earlier, like at 6:00 am, and we stop at whatever village we find ourselves at at 1:00 when the real heat of the day is setting in. That said, we did congratulate ourselves for walking 12 miles in about 8.5 hours. BUT we arrived here completely spent and drenched in sweat - not perspiration, sweat!
THAT said, after a great shower, a little stretching, a foot massage (self administered), and a great big beer, I feel pretty damn good. We got here in Lorca at about 3:00 and found beds at La Bodega Del Camino - a really nice newish place, where we have 2 lower bunks in a room with 5 bunks, so far all women, and a bathroom.

Great! You are all in the mood and discipline now :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I am in my way to The Way... your fault!
Who the f@&k thinks about ice cream while hiking? I have been told that men sweat and women perspire. Suffice to say raft you were both glowing with the love of Christ. Or of the sun. You seem to have pretty good luck booking yourselves into the manger barns that Mary sought out with a 9 month pregnancy. God I hope that neither of you need to deliver a child on this trip.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the path to eternal life, is there anyone gay on this path? Nancy you have excellent gaydar. Would mine and I enjoy the trek? Are there beers with boys potential?
