Day#10 Sitting in the bus station

So here we are sitting waiting for our bus to León with connection to Ponferrada.  This will be the second day that we are not walking and I'm.missing it.  It's probably a good thing we stopped in Burgos, besides the fact that it is a ciudad maravillosa, because Marty developed a bladder infection.  She called her daughter, Dr. Cindy Lawlor, who diagnosed it and told her to start taking ciprofloxitine.  So first thing this morning we went to the farmacia and bought some.  Not only did we not need a prescription, but it only cost about $3.00.  Do we wonder why our health care coasts are so high in the US?

Bussing the Camino -- que barbaridad!!!  But as Camino wisdom says: you must listen to your body, listen to god (or the universe), and walk your OWN Camino.  And this is our Camino.  Many pilgrims are reserving beds ahead and sending their packs ahead.  We have  been carrying our packs since Roncesvalles, and we take our chances at finding a bed.  So far luck has been with us.  Marty's blisters are healing, and her knee is fine now.  I continue to be thankful that I have no blisters and my knee is behaving.  In Irache I had a painful muscle pull  where the quad muscle attaches to the hip, but that seems fine now.

  2. Don't get me going on health care in the US. I bet that it seems really weird to not be walking right now. You are girls on the run ... Without the run. I'm so impressed that you are negotiating your way without the anxiety of the other pilgrims. That's my girl!!! Tango on Muffy.

  3. I'm sure it was the pool-side deck chair that was responsible for Marty's UT infection, wadda ya think?! Your Camino trip, yes! You guys have marched to the tune of every different bummer thrown your way, and we love you for it !
